This is George's home. He is an 80# Sulcata.

It is very simple. I chose an area with soft dirt for him to be able to dig, stacked several large logs on each side, laid poles across to support the roof, and then laid pieces of plywood for the roof. I then covered the whole thing with dirt and straw. It's a work in progress, and I'm not done yet.

There is alos a hook inside for a heat lamp if I ever need it. He loves it and had dug quite a burrow inside.

Mary's bookshelf turtle table Date: 12/26/2005 Mary made a very nice tort table from an old bookshelf. The inside of the bookshelf can be lined with roll floor vinyl to make it moisture proof and easy to clean. One shelf can be left inside and, with hay or a roof added, can become a nice built-in hide house.
Tom's duplex turtle table Date: 12/26/2005 Tom has constructed a tort table that does "double duty". The overall table measures 3'X6'. One side is for his Leopards and the other side is for his Redfoot. This is a good idea for small torts that are indoors. If the tortoises on each side of the duplex table have the same basking temp requirements, they can share a single UVB/heat lamp which is a money saver for the keeper.

mostly hay with greens This is the hay/leafy greens mix I give my 4 pound Leopards. It is about 80% salad style hay and 20% greens. The sulcata who are 43 pounds and 26 pounds get a similar mix but with less greens and Orchard Grass Hay. Date: 09/14/2006 This is the hay/leafy greens mix I give my 4 pound Leopards.
